I don't like it when I play a cd that has these wonderful sounding songs on it, then suddenly this song will come on that is totally out of sync with the rest of the music and disrupts my listening experience. I like it when all the songs on a cd have a similar sound & feel to them so that there is a cohesive blend of what I wanted it for in t he first place. Tho I do have my favorite songs (like "Breathe"), the entire cd is great- I listen to all of it, not just certain songs over & over. The sound sometimes has remnants of blues guitar, yet it isn't really blues.

Alexi Murdoch has a way of harmonizing on his guitar that really grabs me. Alexi Murdoch - All My Days Soundtrack Lyrics from Real Steel Movie (2011) Well I have been searching All of my days Many a road, you know Ive been. It's not the music genre I would normally listen to, but it has a certain sound and feel to it that I find very appealling and relaxing. I read other reviews about it, decided to go for it. Now I see clearly It's you I'm looking for All of my days Soon I'll smile I know I'll feel this loneliness no more All of my days For I look around me And it seems He found me And it's coming into sight As the days keep turning into night As the days keep turning into night And even breathing feels all right Yes, even breathing feels all right. Detractors might dismiss Time Without Consequence as the work of a Cat Stevens for the Garden State generation, but there's a always a place for hushed intimacy and delicate folk-pop singer/songwriters, and Alexi Murdoch fills the bill without the mewling self-absorption of the emo contingent.Like others, most likely, I first heard the song "Breathe" on an episode of Stargate Universe, loved it, went on an internet search, and found this cd.
Murdoch's murmuring, Drake-like vocals and John Martyn-style acoustic guitar are at the forefront of the album, with only the most minimal accompaniment. ("It's Only Fear" is the sole track that didn't make the leap, insuring collector-geek status for the EP.) The remaining eight songs are, in the best possible sense, more of the same, and in the case of the first single "Dream About Flying" and the haunted opener "All My Days," they surpass the older songs.
Nearly a third of the album will be familiar to those who already have Murdoch's 2004 EP Four Songs, three-quarters of which is reprised here, including "Orange Sky," the aforementioned small-screen favorite.
Instead, the Scottish singer/songwriter's self-released debut full-length bears haunting similarities to the likes of Nick Drake's Pink Moon, hardly the way to mainstream stardom no matter how many car commercials it inspires. Inspiring, and somewhat breathtaking in its reflections and its observations on what life has meant to the author.

After appearing on the soundtrack to the hit TV show The OC, Alexi Murdoch could have easily followed Death Cab for Cutie onto the major label merry-go-round and let a bevy of A&R folks shape him into Next Big Thinghood.
